Life back to normal... hopefully!

Daddy Russ passed his inspection and finished a short but exhausting field exercise. He was told by the lead inspector that his Det was the most motivated and professional Det that he’d ever seen. Go Russ and Det 713. Hopefully, Russ will be home a little more now that his inspection is over.

Little Russ is doing well. We think that he’s going through a time of major mental development. His imagination is taking off, as is his verbal skills and general comprehension. He is also starting to test his limits when it comes to just how much power he has over mommy and daddy. The answer, to his dismay, is very little. The “time-out and nap/sleep show-downs” have been “fun” lately.

Garen is also doing well. He’s really starting to take everything in. It’s like every morning he wakes up to a different and cooler world. He loves looking at himself in the mirror and chewing on any and everything. I miss spoke before on his top middle teeth. Those are still working their way down his gum, but his other top incisor (Rt) has come in. Now that he has bottom and top teeth you can hear him grind them together…. I hate it. He’s also sitting up a little better and is able to worm or roll his way to toys that are out of reach.

I’m doing well too. I’m looking forward to Russ being around more and the time that it will give me to do more non kid related things. I also have my nose surgery scheduled for late Oct. I have a pre op appointment this week where I’ll find out what to expect.

That’s it for this week. Take care.
