We just got back from camping at Sequoia National Park with my parents, sister and her family. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the beauty of nature. The boys took to the dirt right away and loved every minute of it. We had to keep on reigning them in because they just wanted to explore. We took our eyes off G for just a few minutes and found him 40 feet up the hill behind our campsite! All I could see was our future trip/s to the ER. I can't remember how often I was sucking air through my teeth as I watched one of our boys defy gravity and physics and somehow make it safely through a grove of rocks or down a rocky steep hill.
We had a great campsite and had 2 brown bears and 3 deer transit about 25 feet from our camp. We also had our own set of campground chipmunks. Russ really enjoyed chasing after them and scaring them away.
Daddy took a spelunking excursion at Crystal Caves and had a blast. He found himself rolling around in cave dirt and giggling like a boy. He was geared up with a head lamp, knee and elbow pads and found himself squeezing through holes he thought would be impossible for him to fit though.
We had a great time and look forward to camping again.
Take care!
